The volumes consist of Government of India official publications relating to British forces in Mesopotamia (present-day Iraq) during and just after the First World War. There are two types of document:
- indexes to intelligence summaries from Mesopotamia; the summaries themselves are not present and may have been destroyed;
- issues of Who's Who in Mesopotamia, a reference list of people, places, and other subjects of note compiled from the files of the Intelligence Branch of the Indian Expeditionary Force 'D'.
