Partly printed and typewritten, partly autograph material consisting of photocopies of poetry and notes about poems, and three publishers’ proofs.
Add MS 88918/13/1 contains photocopies of poems, notes, copies of different possible dustcover designs, drafts of an introduction to the anthology and notes about memorising poetry. Correspondence between Hughes and Lee Brackstone at Faber and Faber relating to the anthology, for which Hughes selected and edited the poetry and wrote the introduction, is also included.
Add MS 88918/13/2 contains a publisher's proof, an uncorrected proof and an exercise book of notes. Add MS 88918/13/3 contains two publishers' proofs. Add MS 88918/13/4 and Add MS 88918/13/5 are both slightly oversize cardboard copies of dustcovers for the poetry anthology.
