- Scope & Content:
- This series consists mainly of grants of probates and administrations, giving name of party, date and place of death, amount or value of the estate, nature and extent of grant and name and description of the applicant. It also contains some wills and inventories, as follows: full copies of Lower Burma wills appear regularly from the last quarter of 1898 to the third quarter of 1918 and intermittently for 1919-1921. Full copies of Bihar wills and inventories appear intermittently from 1919 to 1938. For index to the series 1865-1910 see Z/L/AG/34/12 (copy in OIOC Reading Room); for index 1910-1938 see the General Index to Wills, Probates, Administrations and Inventories 1909-1948 (copy in OIOC Reading Room). L/AG/34/31 is continued for the years 1938-1948 by the All-India Series (see L/AG/34/29/383-386 above).
