- In 1897 the separate Registers of Political and Secret Letters from and Despatches to India, Madras and Bombay were discontinued together with the Registers of Political and Secret Home Correspondence (IOR/Z/L/PS/3) and the Registers of Letters from Aden (IOR/Z/L/PS/9). All these separate registers were replaced by a single comprehensive annual register (and index) covering all types of Political and Secret correspondence, which continued down to 1911. These new style registers are classified as IOR/Z/L/PS/7/23-37.
