ROLLS of Parliament, I Rich. II. [ 1377 ]-39 Hen. VI. [1460]: transcripts, apparently made for Sir Roger Twysden, with notes, and extracts from other records, in his hand. Eight volumes.

Vol. ii. (a) " Petitions and acts moeued at y^e Parleament held at York, 8 Edw. Ill. [1334]; copied from "the abbreuyation of 8^o Edw. 3 by Mr. Bowyer, the Roll itself being now wanting." At the end (f. 3) is a note oil the abridgements of William Bowyer, who was Keeper of the Records in the Tower (ob. circ. 1566) and was succeeded by Twysden's uncle, Michael Heneage (ob. 1600), and of his son, Robert Bowyer, appointed Keeper in 1604-5. f. 2 ; -(b) Extracts from the Red Book of the Exchequer (f 4) and other MSS., including a Book of Knights' Fees, temp . Hen II., in the Exchequer (f. 7 b), the Register of Simon Islip, Archbishop of Canterbury (f. 9), and a Register of St. Augustine's Abbey, Canterbury, in the Exchequer. ff. 4-13;-(c) The form of ceremonial of " the coronation of y^e Kings of Scotland," with the note, " I copyed this out of the very booke King Charles himself had in his hands when he was crowned at Edenburgh, 1633, which was a booke in octauo, guilded all over, and curiously writ in a round Roman hand, and was lent me by Mr. William Hodges, belonging to y^e Duke of Richmond, when wee were both prisoners in Lambeth, who kept it for the sayd Duke." f. 14;-(d) The manner of crowning the King of England " in old tyme "-" Ex antiquo libro seacharij olim monasterii S^ti Augustini." f. 19 b;-(e) Extracts from Registers of St. Martin's Priory, Dover. f. 21 ;-Vol. iii.
