SPECIMENS of the signatures and handwriting produced (according to the title-page) "by me William Henry Ireland during my fabrication of the manuscripts which I wrote and attributed to Shakespeare," with Ireland's explanatory notes. Paper; ff. 9. XVIIIth-XIXth cent. Quarto. Accompanying this volume are sixteen printed tracts, containing Ireland's forged signatures and marginal notes of Shakespeare, most of them having on the titlepage the inscription "S[amuel] Ireland from his dear Son." The titles, etc., of the tracts (the foliation of which includes Ireland's inserted readings of the alleged Shakespeare notes) are given.
