Papers of Sir Richard Browne relating to Privy Council business, including draft minutes, petitions, reports, orders and supporting documents; 1614-1659>, 25 June 1660-30 Sept. 1678. Partly drafts, copies and extracts. The earliest items (78215, ff. 1-14) are copies or extracts in the hand of John Wolley the younger, Keeper of the Council Records. These are followed by further minutes, 1660-1670, partly in drafts by Browne, with orders, petitions and papers. Substantial groups of papers of June-Sept. 1667 relate to the second Dutch war and the retrenchment of royal expenditure. Two outsize petitions from 78215 are preserved in 78263.
