Title:

ABERDEEN PAPERS. Vols. XXXV-XXXIX. Official correspondence and papers of Lord Aberdeen as Ambassador Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to the Emperor Francis I of Austria. The majority of the papers consists of official and 'private' or semi-official correspondence with the Foreign Secretary, Robert Stewart, Viscount Castlereagh (2nd Marquess of Londonderry 1821), and a considerable proportion was printed in Memoirs and Correspondence of Viscount Castlereagh, ed. by his brother, the 3rd Marquess, 1848-1853. The last two volumes contain drafts of the protocol of, and copies of other papers relating to, the abortive Conference of Châtillonsur-Seine (Feb.-March 1814) which Aberdeen attended as a plenipotentiary. The most noteworthy other correspondent is Prince Metternich, the Austrian statesman; 8 July 1813-17 Aug. 1814. English, French, German and Italian. Five volumes. Large folio and folio. 43073.
