Correspondence and papers of Sir John Perceval, knt. 1658, 1st Bart. 1667 (b. 1629, d. 1665), Clerk of the Court of King's Bench and (1660) of the Court of Common Pleas, Ireland, Registrar to the Commissioners for the Settlement of Ireland 1662, together with correspondence, etc., of his mother, Katherine, née Usher, partly as his guardian during his minority (vol. XIII, ff. 4-129), his wife, Katherine, her father, the elder Robert Southwell, and her brother, Robert (knt. 1665), and their correspondence with him; 1647-1665, n.d. The papers comprise accompts, legal opinions, rentals, lists of tenants and livestock, bonds, state papers (many of which have been published in the Calendar of State Papers, Ireland), etc., and include correspondence with his brother George, his sister, Judith (and her husband Randall Clayton), his uncles Sir Percy Smyth, Sir Paul Davys, and Sir William Usher, also with his cousins Samuel, Philip, and Josias Perceval, Thomas White, Thomas Pigott, William Fitzgerald, Berkley Usher, William Domville, and William Dobbins, his agent in London, and with other agents and tenants, etc., John Hodder and Richard Beare of Cork, Valentine Savage of Dublin, Christopher and George Crofts, and William, Richard, Thomas, and James Barry. Many of the papers in Add. MSS. 46932-46938 have been printed by the Historical Manuscripts Commission in Report on the Manuscripts of the Earl of Egmont, i, 1905, pp. 483-617. The original order has been preserved, with corrections, but the arrangement of one volume to one O.S. year has been abandoned. See also 471 11 below. Thirteen volumes.
