Series of correspondence from the Military Secretary's Office that remained unregistered and unanswered for a period of time. The section of 'Arrear Correspondence' appears to have been an attempt to deal with accumulated backlogs in the Military Secretary's Office. Material is arranged by Register number order, which is not chronological.
Includes extensive correspondence from Lieutenant Colonel C.S. Reid and Lieutenant Colonel O. Cavenagh, who successively held the position of Town Major, Fort William, and from Major General Richard J.H. Birch, Secretary to the Government in the Military Department.
