Scope & Content:

Various portraits of principal female members of cast, arranged alphabetically by surname.

Some photographs are portraits in costume, some are taken during performance. The photographs are occasionally supplemented by negatives, autographs (cut from letters), and other incidental correspondence. Personal portraits are also sometimes included.

The fronts to the envelopes in which the photographs were originally held have been retained since they identify role and stage performance (and include original D'Oyly Carte reference numbers).

Note: stage performance photographs frequently include other members of cast.
