This sub-sub series contains correspondence from 1871 to 1948 on a range of matters relating to the Trucial Coast and nearby islands including Abu Musa, Tunb [Tumb] and Sir Abu Nu'air. Topics in the correspondence discussed include:
- British relations with the Trucial States of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Umm al-Qawain [Qaywayn], Sharjah, Ajman, Kalba, Ras al-Khaimah.
- Succession and family disagreements in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Umm al-Qawain [Qaywayn], Sharjah, Ajman, Kalba, Fujairah, Hamriyah.
- The mining of Abu Musa island and the involvement of British and German firms and the documents relating to the international tribunal convened about the dispute.
- Various actions displeasing to the British such as the refusal of the Shaikh of Dubai to allow the British India Steam Navigation agent to land; the behaviour of the Shaikh of Ajman and the Shaikh of Fujairah which led to their fort towers being bombarded.
