These files and volumes document relations between Kuwait and Iraq, and were created and accumulated by the Kuwait Political Agency. They primarily comprise correspondence between the Political Agency, Kuwait; the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; the Secretary of State for India; and the High Commissioner in Iraq. They also contain copies of outgoing and incoming correspondence from members of the Al Sabah ruling family, and various branches of the Government of Iraq.

• Political relations between Kuwait and Iraq, including the appointment of diplomats, and proposals for the absorption of Kuwait into Iraq.
• Movements for Arab unity.
• Anti-British sentiment in Iraq, and antagonism towards British policy regarding Syria and Palestine.
• The growth of Arab youth movements in Iraq.
• Smuggling between Kuwait and Iraq.
• Date gardens belonging to the Shaikh of Kuwait in Basra, and a series of court cases regarding their ownership and the tax exempt status of the date crops.
• Conservancy arrangements on the Shatt al-Arab.
• Iraqi internal politics, including the coup d'état.
