The Agency Staff [personal] sub-sub-series consists of four, surviving correspondence files. Three files contain employee details for clerks (two Arab and one Indian) working at the British Political Agency, Kuwait and another clerk (Indian) working at the British Political Agency, Bahrain. The continuance or termination of their employment in the Persian Gulf clerical establishment is discussed in relation to the transition from Government of India to Foreign Office terms and conditions of employment, following Indian Independence in 1947. A fourth file contains discussions between British officials and the Shaikh of Kuwait about existing and proposed building development, particularly staff accommodation, on land in the vicinity of the Kuwait Political Agency.
