Includes letters and enclosures from individuals and organisations; drafts of articles, notes and reports written by Hughes; meeting minutes for the National Rivers Authority Regional Rivers Advisory Committee; papers relating to the Westcountry Rivers Trust and the North Atlantic Salmon Fund; copies of deeds; press cuttings and photocopies of material from fishing books. Two typewritten reports with some autograph annotations entitled 'Study of the 1989 Drought in SW England Final Report' volume 1 Main Report and 'River Torridge Catchment Management Plan' are included. A bundle of letters from John Robinson relating to environmental matters, with a letter sent to Carol Hughes in 1999 is also included.
