- Scope & Content:
- Includes those who were transferred to the Office of the High Commissioner for India and including members of the India Store Department. The persons concerned were those who were active about 1920, but had left the India Office, either by death, retirement or transfer, by about 1939. The Accountant General's files of those who were active after about 1939 were transferred to the Establishment (later Personnel) Department. There are also a few files of persons who were not on the staff of the India Office but who served under the Commonwealth Relations Office with the United Kingdom High Commissioners in India and Pakistan up to about 1950. The files include minutes from the Accountant General to the Establishment Officer and the Under Secretary of State, submissions when an officer was about to retire, some certificates of qualification issued by the Civil Service Commissioners, and sundry personal material.
