Copies, extracts and abstracts, mostly made by a single, unidentified English agent on the Continent who has added his own comments. Letters dated Dec. 1716-Feb. 1717, Apr., July-Oct. 1717 and Feb.-March 1718 were originally arranged chronologically, but those dated March, May-June, Nov.-Dec. 1717 and Jan.-Feb. 1718 were arranged by recipient and sender, virtually as at present.
