TRUMBULL PAPERS. Vols. CCXXI-CCXXIII. Commonplace-book of moral and political topics, etc.; circa mid-17th cent. Italian. Fair copy, with revisions, in a continental hand. The individual entries in this closely-written compilation are copied in rough alphabetical order, in sections arranged according to initial syllables or groups of syllables. Supplementary maxims are sometimes inserted on loose gatherings of leaves. The entries are followed within each section by a separate non-consecutive numbering.
Paper: ff. [? + ? + ?]. Approx. 335 x 210mm. Binding of paper boards only, strengthened with vellum strips at the sewing-points, and lacking spines. Paper labels on front covers carry note of letters covered in each volume. Formerly Add. 24/1-4, and partly from Add. 41. Three volumes.
