TRUMBULL PAPERS. Vol. CCLIII-CCLVI. Correspondence of Ralph Bridges, chaplain to Henry Compton, Bishop of London, with Trumbull, his widow Lady Judith, and son William Trumbull junior; 1702-1731. Including a few notes and drafts of Trumbull's letters. The letters of William Trumbull junior are originals, a few in Latin. Bridges (1679-1730) was Sir William's nephew (son of his sister Elizabeth and brother of John Bridges; see Add. 72490-72493 and 72515), but the letters are less concerned with family matters than with public affairs. They also contain a number of references to the purchase of books for Trumbull's library. Chiefly from Alph. LIII-LVI, Add. 105, 106, 143, 136 and 137.
