Photographs, script, notes, and correspondence. Produced by the English Stage Society at the Royal Court Theatre in March 1968. This play, along with ‘A Collier’s Friday Night’ and ‘The Widowing of Mrs Holroyd’ was part of a season of D. H. Lawrence’s plays. Peter Gill won the 1968 ‘Plays and Players’ award for Best Production for his direction of these plays. This production (with an almost identical cast) subsequently played briefly at the Lamda Theatre in September 1968 before going on a British Council Tour of Milan, Bucharest, and Belgrade in October 1968.
