(2) Plans of Battles. p. 31, Battle of Patna 3rd May 1764 between Major John Carnac and forces of Shah Alam and Mir Kasim, with, pp. 35-6, Description of the Battle (about 260 words); p. 97, Battle of Buxar 23rd Oct. 1764 between Sir Hector Munro and the forces of Shuja-ud-daula and Mir Kasim, with, pp. 99-107, Description of the battle (about 1,700 words). This is the only known contemporary Plan of the Battle of Buxar. Accounts are to be found in the Seir Mutagherin, Gentil's Mémoire, Madec's Mémoire (see H/773), Annual Register 1765, Gentlemen's Magazine 1765. Also see Capt. Harper's Diary in Orme MSS. O.V. 219. The plan of the battle of Buxar has been reproduced by Mr. C. E, A. W. Oldham in the Bihar and Orissa Research Society Journal 1926.
