Louis de Plusquellec from the Government of Bombay for reparation for damage done at Mahe in breach of Article 11 of the Capitulation; pp. 207-13, Capitulation of Mahe 10th Feb. 1761. (3) pp. 215-82, Narrative of Proceedings of the Bengal Council in 1765 and 1766 relative to restitutions made to France by Great Britain in the Provinces of Begal and Bihar. The French Commissary was M. Jean Law de Lauriston, who took over Chandernagore Town and District from Henry Vansittart, but acted partly through his Deputies, MM. Guy du Bois Rolland, Durand, Louis Charles Dangereux, Louis le Chenay and Alexander Carvalho. The French Factory at Dacca was restored by John Cartier, that at Saidabad by William Ascanius, Senior Chief of Cossimbazar, that of Jugdea by Charles Stafford Pleydell, Chief of Chittagong, and that of Ballasore by William Maxwell, whilst pieces of ground at Chupra, Singhia, Futwa, Ponerack and Begumserai (all in Bihar) were surrendered by John Wood of the Patna Council.
