The Proceedings regarding the expedition against the Marawars in 1772 are contained in the Tanjore Printed Papers, Appendix 26, and the justice and policy of the Measure is discussed in G. Rous' Pamphlet "The Restoration of the Rajah of Tanjore considered," Folios 61-74, 82, 99, 104, 114, 122. Appendix 22 shows the situation of the Marawars with respect to the Nabob of Arcot and Rajah of Tanjore.
