(3) pp. 369-422, "Japan Voyage" Journal of the ship Return during its stay in Japan 29th June to 28th Aug. 1673 (from Mr. Thomas Wilks' Papers). At this date Japan was closed to all foreigners except the Dutch. This journal has been printed as an appendix in vol. ii of J. G. Scheuchzer's translation (1728) of Kaempfer's Japan. Also in the edition of Kaempfer published by Messrs. Maclehose in 1906. (4) pp. 429-59, John Agnew, Resident at Calicut, to Directors 7th April 1794 relative to Pepper obtainable in Malabar.
