Fragments of autobiography and autobiographical notes.
1. Autograph draft of his autobiography covering the period from his arrival in Bombay in Oct. 1842 to his departure from India March 1849. 33 pages
2. Autograph draft entitled 'Beatson's Horse', with chapter title and the last 9 ½ pages in Isabel Burton's hand, with corrections by Burton. This and the preceding item are both in pencil on the same size of paper and appear to be fragments of the same work.
3. Autograph drafts of part of his autobiography, written in the third person, on loose sheets covering Jan. 1886- 23 Nov. 1887. 17 pages
4. Autograph notes on his genealogy. This and the preceding are on the same size of small quarto paper.
5. Autograph note by Burton listing his publications, 1849-1856.
