This volume is a combined index and register to the separate series of Dissents to Court Minutes (IOR/B/237-246). The index section, in the first part of the volume, gives, in date order, the dissentient; the matter dissented from; the year; and a number. The register section gives fuller details in the numerical order indicated in the index, plus the date of the Court at which the dissent was recorded. The date given to a dissent in IOR/B/237-246 is usually the date of the original document, so there are often small discrepancies between the main series and the index volume.
Numbering of dissents in the main series is erratic. The easiest way to use the index for the period up to 10 Apr 1833 is to use the date of the Court meeting to look at the relevant volume of Court Minutes. After April 1833, when the Court Minutes only mention dissents but give no detail, the index can only act as a guide.
