  • Ministry of Pensions Indian Seaman Death Schedule relating to one Indian seaman named Ali Assorbe (Assorbi) who lost his life when the ss. Narva was subject to enemy action and sank on 15th January 1945
  • Copy of a letter (dated 11th February 1946) from the mother of Ali Assorbi ex ss. Narva, that includes an expression of gratitude for her son’s name being included in the Roll of Honour of members of the Merchant Navy, and an appeal for adequate compensation to be granted to heirs and dependants of Ali Assorbi
  • Report on heirs and dependants of Ali Assorbi and a Government of India Department of Commerce letter of October 1946 showing the grant of a pension to his mother
  • List of Indian seamen in respect of whom the Ministry of Pensions have received no details of awards [list includes the names of vessels, the dates they were subject to enemy action, with the names of certain seamen under the heading “Number of cases outstanding”]
