The volume consists of correspondence sent to the Bushire Residency; the principal correspondents being Major Samuel Hennell, Resident in the Persian Gulf at the time, and the Secretaries to the Government at Bombay.
The letters transmit printed circulars issued by the Government of India reporting on the victories achieved over the Sikh Army during the Sikh War, between December 1845 and February 1846. They include lists of officers killed and wounded during the Battle of Mudki, on 18 December 1845 (folios 9v-11v) and during the Battle of Sobraon, on 10 February 1846 (folios 32v-34v).
Relations with the Wahabee (Wahabi) Chief in the Persian Gulf are also covered in the volume.
