Correspondence discusses the case of a British Indian traveller murdered by the Shihuh [al-Shiḥūḥ] as he was making his way from Karachi to Dubai via Muscat and Dibah [possibly Dibba, at the northern tip of the Arabian Peninsula]. Issues discussed include:

- Maintenance of British prestige and punitive actions against the Shihuh including seizure of their dhows
