- The death of Shaikh Jābir Āl Ṣabāḥ and the succession of his brother, Shaikh Sālim al-Mubārak Āl Ṣabāḥ.
- The death of Shaikh Sālim al-Mubārak Āl Ṣabāḥ and the succession of his nephew, Shaikh Aḥmad al-Jābir Āl Ṣabāḥ.
- Possible successors to Shaikh Aḥmad al-Jābir Āl Ṣabāḥ.
