Scope & Content:

This file contains correspondence between British officials regarding the status of the border between Iraq and Kuwait following the Iraqi Government expressing an interest in applying for admission to the League of Nations in Geneva. The officials also discuss a recent incident in which a board marking the border had been removed by the Iraqi authorities.

The file contains correspondence between British Officials and the Iraqi Prime Minister, Nūrī al-Sa‘īd as well as with Shaikh Aḥmad al-Jābir Āl Ṣabāḥ, the ruler of Kuwait. In the correspondence, British officials state that the status of the border needs to be approved before Iraq can formally apply to join the League of Nations.
