The volume contains correspondence and telegrams between the Political Agent at Bahrain and the Political Resident at Bushire, the Government of India, the India Office in London and Anglo-Persian Oil Company (APOC) representatives in regard to the final negotiations with the Sheikh of Qatar before the signing of the oil concession.
The volume contains:the Qatar oil concession, signed by the Shaikh of Qatar, ‘Abdullāh bin Jāsim Āl Thānī, and APOC on 17 May 1935, in Arabic and English (folios 67-86) 'Sketch map of Qatar Peninsula' (folio 87); agreement 5 June 1935 between the British Government and APOC regarding the Qatar Oil Concession (folios 211-212).
There are some letters in Arabic, to and from the Sheikh of Qatar.

- The main foliation is written in pencil, circled, and can be found in the top right corner of the recto side of each folio. The numbering commences at the title page with 1, then 2-86; 87 and 87A and it carries on until 229, which is the last number given to the last folio of the volume.A second foliation sequence runs between ff. 3-220; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled, and can be found in the same position as the main sequence.
