The file relates to two cases concerning British guards employed at the Bahrain Petroleum Company Limited (BAPCO) refinery in Bahrain, which involved the intervention of the Political Agent, Bahrain, the Political Resident in Persian Gulf; and the Government of India.
The first case arose from an employment dispute with BAPCO, which led to the employee's resignation and allegations of misconduct. The papers discuss the circumstances of the case and the question of payment for the employee's passage out of Bahrain. The second case arose from an incident of serious misconduct, which left the employee guilty of a criminal offence. The case resulted in the employee's deportation from Bahrain.
