The file discusses a proposal by Gray, Mackenzie and Company Limited to introduce portable wireless transmitting sets in order to keep in touch with their various branches on the Arabian coast of the Persian Gulf.
A series of file notes which were maintained as a record of the correspondence in the volume can be found at folio 11. These file notes include background on Gray Mackenzie's use of Radio Telegraph during the second world war and similar prior requests from other companies which were denied.
