- The file comprises a single item of correspondence, a confidential note from the Staff Officer (Intelligence) Persian Gulf (Lieutenant RNVR [Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve] I Setter), addressed to all Persian Gulf Reporting Officers, dated 12 April 1946, announcing his taking up of duties from 3 April 1946 (f 2). The file notes (f 3) record discussion amongst Agency staff in response to the note, which suggest that the Political Agent becomes ‘NRO’ when SOIO (Staff Officer Intelligence?) leaves Bahrain.
