This file contains correspondence between British officials that relates to administrative matters concerning the hiring, pay and travel (to/from Bahrain) of Egyptian and Syrian teachers employed by the Government of Bahrain.
Of particular interest are the following:
- Correspondence between British officials and the Near East Arab Broadcasting Station in Jerusalem regarding the suitability of an Egyptian teacher to provide sports news to the station alongside his role as a sports teacher in Bahrain (ff. 59-66).
- A translation and original copy (in Arabic) of an article written by Mahdi Ahmad Ali, an ex-member of the Egyptian Educational Mission in Bahrain, that was published in the Muslim Brotherhood magazine of Cairo in 1948 (ff. 71-73, 75) .
