The file contains correspondence with representatives of California Arabian Standard Oil Company (CASOC), from 1944 known as Arabian-American Oil Company (ARAMCO), and between the Political Agent at Bahrain, the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf, the Government of India, and the Secretary of State for India.
The main subjects are:
- requests to settle outstanding payments from CASOC and Gray, Mackenzie & Co for supplies and shipment of parts of trucks;
- visit of Political Resident to the CASOC refinery at Ras Tanura;
- letters intercepted by Bahrain censorship and grievances raised by CASOC and ARAMCO Indian, Iraqi and Italian employees working in Dharhan and Ras Tanura, for the wages and the poor living conditions in the camps. There is also mention of strikes happened in 1945, and details of workers suspected of communism.
