This file contains correspondence related to Group Captain Hubert Poyntz-Gaynor Leigh, State Engineer in Bahrain.
The correspondence is primarily between Leigh himself; Charles Belgrave, Adviser to the Government of Bahrain; and the Political Agency in Bahrain. The correspondence relates to Leigh's appointment in 1944, the terms of his service and his pay as well as his eventual departure from Bahrain in 1948. Leigh's contract is contained on folios 3-6.
The file also contains correspondence regarding the appointment of Leigh's replacement, Donald Brammer (including a copy of Brammer's contract on folios 112-117).
