This file contains correspondence between the British Political Agency in Bahrain, the British Political Residency in Bushire (and following 1947, Bahrain), the Foreign Office, various local constabularies, and the Adviserate to the Government of Bahrain, as well as other third parties.
The correspondence contains details of attempts to engage British policemen to work in Bahrain. Topics discussed include details of the renewal of a number of officers' contracts in 1947 and the efforts of Charles Belgrave, Adviser to the Government of Bahrain, to hire replacements while in London in 1949. Particulars of the provisions made for these men during their service in Bahrain are discussed throughout the file, including pay, leave and living arrangements.
