- Scope & Content:
- The file consists mostly of applications for employment with the Bahrain Political Agency at menial grades. The positions applied for consist of: farrash/farash [ferash], peon, nokhoda [nakhoda], launch driver, office boy, and any post. The papers also include a letter of resignation from a sweeper, certificates of good character (references), papers concerning disciplinary matters, office orders, medical certificates issued by The American Mission Hospital, notes, personal comments on applicants, and roster of farashes, July 1944. Many of the letters are written and signed in Arabic. Some items are signed by means of thumbprints.

- Foliation: the foliation system in use commences at 1A on the front cover and continues through to 49 on the last folio (the back cover appears as f. 36, before the notes). The sequence appears written in pencil in the top right hand corner of the recto page of each folio; ff. 36-49 are circled. Foliation anomalies: ff. 1A, 1B; ff. 5A, 5B; ff. 11A, 11B; ff. 13A, 13B. The following folio numbers do not appear: 3 (3 is used to denote f. 2v), 8-10. A second sequence (numbered 1-19) commences on f. 38 and runs to f. 49. This sequence is also written in pencil and appears in the top right hand corner of the recto page of the folios concerned.
