The file relates to the appointment and service of holders of the post of Censor Clerk (also referred to in the papers as Third Clerk and War Establishment Clerk) of the Political Agency, Bahrain. The papers, which consist of correspondence, telegrams, memoranda, office orders, and a last pay certificate, cover the following topics: appointment; travel arrangements; travel allowance; pay and allowances; correspondence concerning service book, service roll and last pay certificate; correspondence concerning a request for promotion to the Upper Division of the Clerical Establishment, February 1943 and June-July 1943; leave and leave salary; correspondence concerning length of Government service in India, May 1943; and letter concerning the payment of house rent, June 1943.
