The file contains correspondence and public notices related to municipal councillors and elections in Manama, Muharraq, and Hedd in Bahrain. The correspondence is between the Adviser to the Government of Bahrain (Charles Dalrymple Belgrave), the Political Agent, Bahrain, and the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf. As well as notice of elected councillors and upcoming elections, the file covers the following matters:
- a proposal for a census in 1930;
- the election of a member of the Hindu community to the council;
- suggestions for changes to the system in 1946, including the breakdown of divisions along ethnic and religious lines.
Folio 20 is a list of all elected and nominated members of the Manama, Muharraq, and Hedd Municipal Committees in 1950.
