The file contains correspondence concerning the training and education of Bahrainis in India and Iraq. The correspondence is between the Adviser to the Government of Bahrain (usually Charles Dalrymple Belgrave), Political Agency in Bahrain, Political Resident in the Persian Gulf in Bushire, Government of India (External Affairs Department), British Embassy in Baghdad (sometimes referred to as Bagdad), and the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baghdad.
The file includes the following:
- correspondence regarding the training of three Bahraini youths in surveying and draughtsmanship with the Land Records and Surveys Department, Government of Bengal, including arrangements for payment and allowances and reports on their progress from supervising officers (folio 68);
- correspondence regarding the education of Bahrainis in Iraqi schools;
- correspondence regarding the training of Fatmah bint Ali Zayani, a Bahraini, in nursing and maternity work at a women's hospital in Basrah;
- correspondence concerning a request by Bahraini businessman Abdullah Ali al-Zaed for financial help for an English education for his sons.
Folios 73-81 are internal office notes.
