The file contains telegrams and correspondence regarding arrangements and expenses for visits of the Political Agent and the Officiating Political Agent at Bahrain (Captain John Baron Howes) to Basra, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Dubai, Ras al Khaimah; and programmes of tours of Bahrain by the Political Officer, Trucial Coast in 1944.
The principal correspondents are: Imperial Airways Limited; the Senior Naval Officer in the Persian Gulf; the Residency Agent at Sharjah; the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf; and the Political Agent at Bahrain.
There are some documents in Arabic with English translation within the file, correspondence with the Residency Agent at Sharjah; and copies of letters from Shaikh Shakhbut bin Sultan, Ruler of Abu Dhabi; Shaikh Abdullah bin Jasim Al Thani, Ruler of Qatar; and his Secretary, Ṣāliḥ bin Sulaiman Āl Māni'.

An additional foliation sequence is also present in parallel between ff 2-170 and a mixed foliation/pagination sequence between ff 186-191; these numbers are also written in pencil, but are not circled, and are located in the same position as the main sequence.
