The file contains correspondence concerning Qatar slaves seeking manumission in Bahrain. In total there are five cases included in the file where the slave in question seeks manumission from the Political Agency in Bahrain. In one case, the manumission statement is made by the husband of a female slave, who is seeking her recovery from Doha. In this case, enquiries are made to Shaikh ‘Abdullāh bin Jāsim Āl Thānī, ruler of Qatar, who assists in the successful retrieval of the woman.
