- The file contains correspondence relating to a debt recovery claim made in 1942 by Shaikh Hamad, the son of Shaikh Abdulla bin Qasim al Thani, Ruler of Qatar, for money owed to him by Salih bin Ghanim bin Rabi’ah, a subject of Qatar who had since taken up residence in Bahrain. The correspondence between the Ruler of Qatar and the Political Agent, Bahrain who investigated the claim, is in both English and Arabic. Included in the file are transcripts of the witness statements made orally at the British Political Agency in Bahrain, by the debtor and two female slaves.
