The file contains correspondence in the form of letters, personal letters and meetings’ minutes. The file contains a few sets of correspondence. The first set (ff 4-37) is mainly between the Political Agency, Bahrain, the Residency Agent, Sharjah, and the Political Residency, Bushire [Bushehr]. It regards incidents taking place in Dubai including: movements in the desert and in Omani villages, attacks by four robbers on two men on the sea shore of the Dubai frontier, a quarrel between the people of Bokha [Bukha, also spelled in the file as Bakha] and Sha'am [also spelled in the file as Shuam], and the restoration of a man kidnapped on the Dubai frontier.
The second set of correspondence (ff 38-143) is entirely in Arabic and it is arranged as the following:
- Minutes issued by Dubai Local Council. The minutes contain decisions made by the Council regarding the appointing of certain individuals as council members, police guards, teachers, customs inspectors, etc. They also include information on taxes applied on goods, and shops (ff 38-52)
- Letters sent by representatives of Dubai Local Council to the Residency Agent at Sharjah, reporting to him on local disturbances, as well as on quarrels among Dubai’s ruling family (ff 53-78)
- Personal letters as well as Local Council letters between members of Dubai’s ruling family, discussing family issues as well as social disturbances in Dubai (ff 79-143).
