The file contains correspondence in the form of proclamations, memoranda, reports on judicial matters and petitions. Petitions were raised by local residents, land and property owners or heirs, as well as by foreign residents of Bahrain. The petitions cover topics such as registration or sale of houses, land and property, as well as complaints against government officials. The petitions were raised either to the Political Agency, Bahrain, or to the Advisor to the Government of Bahrain.
The main concern of the correspondence is to verify the nationalities of people raising petitions and registering their properties, whether they are foreign or Bahrain subjects, so that they can be tried by the appropriate court, (the Bahrain Court or the Agency Court).
The main correspondence is between the Political Agency, Bahrain, and the Adviser to the Government of Bahrain, the Land Settlement Department, Bahrain, as well as the Land Registration Department, Bahrain.
