The file contains an English and Arabic copy of the Treaty of Mohammerah [Khorramshahr], an agreement between the Government of Iraq and the Sultan of Najd, 'Abdul Aziz ibn Sa'ud [‘Abd al-‘Azīz bin ‘Abd al-Raḥman bin Fayṣal Āl Sa‘ūd], signed at Mohammerah by delegates on 5 May 1922, and the Uqair Protocol, agreed by the same parties and signed by delegates on 2 December 1922. The documents were printed at The Government Press, Baghdad.
The agreements concern the demarcation of boundaries, allegiance and territories of tribes, guarantees of safety for pilgrims, commerce and tariffs, and freedom of travel.
