This file relates to a reported act of piracy near Lima [Ra’s Līmā’]. The correspondence describes an incident in which a cargo boat travelling from Karachi was reportedly plundered by a group of armed Baluchi men.
The main correspondents are the following: the Political Agent and Consul, Muscat; the Senior Naval Officer in the Persian Gulf; the Sultan of Muscat and Oman [Sa‘īd bin Taymūr Āl Bū Sa‘īd].
The Arabic language material consists of several items of correspondence (English translations are included).
The final item in the file is incorrectly dated: the date given is 2 January 1939, when in fact it should be 2 January 1940.
